Job Description
• To develop and maintain a financial system that provides
fast, up to date and timely financial reports in the SACCO
• To prepare society budgets based on inputs from
departmental/sectional managers as well as Board of Directors and other
stakeholders
• To prepare timely, accurate and reliable financial reports
for decision making by the Board.
• To conduct reviews and evaluations for cost control/
reduction opportunities and prepare economic reports
• Ensure production and review of monthly Management accounts
and associated reconciliations within the specified monthly deadlines
• To maintain proper books of account according to the
Cooperative Societies Act, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs),
other legislations and
• To implement necessary types of
internal controls, financial or otherwise
• To develop and maintain efficient cash flow management
techniques to meet daily cash demands by customers in FOSA and BOSA
• To liaise with Government and other regulatory bodies in
all matters related to taxes, collection of outstanding debts and accounting
reporting
• Analyze market and competitor trends
• To maintain proper and up to date registers of fixed
assets, fixed deposits, investments, Board of Directors allowances
• Manage the staff payroll
• To manage the development and introduction of new
investment opportunities, projects, liaise with external financiers and donors
for the generation of expanded revenues for the SACCO
• To implement recommendations from government regulatory
bodies, BOD, internal and external audit reports based on agreements arrived at
with BOD
• A Bachelor of Commerce/ Business Administration degree
(Finance or Accounting) or its equivalent from a recognized University
• CPA (K)
• Member of a relevant professional body
• High financial management
capability.

• Strong analytical, financial reporting, and presentation
skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• High leadership and administrative capacity
• Ability to plan and execute tasks with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good IT skills and Proficient in Microsoft office suite
Minimum 5 years relevant experience
Responsible for the day to day running of the branch office

Type of engagement Permanent
• Responsible for Strategic Plan implementation at the Branch
level
• Ensure human resource development and training for branch
staff in liaison with the HR Manager
• Ensure adherence to the established Code of Conduct
• Ensure compliance with the Act, Regulations, Co-operative
Act, Rules By laws and any other applicable laws at the Branch
• To cause to keep proper books of records and register and
have custody of all funds, securities, valuable papers and other assets of the
specific branch
• To attend Board of Directors meetings when required
• Chair branch staff meetings
• To represent the Society in business transactions and any
other transaction authorized by the Board of Directors and the CEO
• Ensure adequate insurance is in place to protect the assets
of the Society in the specific branch against potential loss
• Conduct staff appraisals at the Branch
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the Board of
Directors.
• Business related degree or its equivalent
• Relevant professional qualification
• Diploma in Cooperative management/ Banking or its
equivalent will be an added advantage

Minimum 3 years relevant experience
- To
manage the C.EO’s diary/itinerary and facilitate his work plan - To
schedule and co-ordinate Board meetings - Prepare
confidential and sensitive documents/reports for board/C.E.O for flow of
information; - Responsible
for safe custody of Board/C.E.O confidential files and documents; ensure
minimum delay in retrieval when required - Book
and coordinate the C.E.O’s /Board travel itinerary both local and
international trips and ensuring that all expenses related to the trips
are processed; - Handling
mail and correspondences - Screening
calls, e-mails, receiving clients from all levels of seniority and
directing them to appropriate sections for actions and feed-back. - Perform
any other duties assigned by the C.E.O
